Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is the government entity responsible for managing, maintaining and developing Fiji's national road network. It oversees subdivision applications, engineering plans and road reserve matters across the country.

About the role

This Sub Divisional Planning Assistant role covers the Central & West location and sits within FRA's planning function. The position processes and assesses subdivision applications, engineering plans, development applications, and requests for use of road reserve. It also handles amendments to scheme, difficult or escalated cases, and big developments, and contributes to formulating relevant policies.

About the successful candidate

  • Degree in Land Use Planning, Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or equivalent with five (5) years of experience in processing subdivision and rezoning applications, assessment of engineering plans, assessing traffic impact studies, and assessment of development applications
  • Alternatively, an Advanced Diploma in Land Use Planning, Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or equivalent with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of key legislations such as FRA Act, Town and Country Planning, Sub Division of Lands, Local Govt Act, Land Transfer Act, Public Health Act and Surveyors Act
  • Ability to review internal traffic management plans for developments
  • Ability to review road vesting / dedication documents
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Valid Group 2 Driving license (manual)
