About the company

Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) is a statutory body that provides loans and advances to sugar cane growers in Fiji. It is one of the key stakeholders in the Fiji Sugar Cane Industry and plays an important role in supporting the interests of cane growers. SCGF is based at its Head Office in Lautoka.

About the role

The IT Support Officer reports directly to the Manager Information Technology and is based at SCGF's Head Office in Lautoka. The role assists the IT department with technical support to end users, management of the IT fixed assets register, documentation, month-end data processing, and marketing and handling of the Fund's social media platform. The officer also supports IT projects, helps keep systems current with new technology, and assists with procurement of IT assets. Duties include compiling reports and returns and liaising with vendors on marketing matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first level support to users
• Advocate the use of IT security policies, procedures, and associated plans for security administration among IT team members and staff
• Carry out user administration
• Document user manuals
• Carry out month-end data processing
• Document system functionality and requirements
• Manage the Fund's social media platform
• Organize and attend marketing activities or events to raise brand awareness, liaise with vendors on marketing, assist with IT asset procurement, compile reports and returns, and carry out other duties delegated by Management

About the successful candidate

• Degree in Computing Science and Information Systems or a relevant IT discipline is essential, or a Diploma in a relevant IT discipline with at least 3 years of experience in a similar field
• Knowledge of basic helpdesk and issue management
• Sound knowledge of networking, cloud computing, and Microsoft technologies such as MS Office, MS Visio, and MS Project
• Strong understanding of business principles and finance to interpret data
• Ability to recognize and resolve system-related problems, work independently, and make necessary decisions within department guidelines
• High attention to detail and accuracy with strong initiative
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Ability to work flexible hours and possess a valid driving license
