Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) is a statutory body providing loans and advances to sugar cane growers in Fiji. It is one of the key stakeholders in the Sugar Cane Industry and plays an important role in supporting the interests of cane growers. SCGF offers products such as priority loans, specialised loans, and the Cane Development Revolving Fund to its grower members.

About the role

This role is based at the Labasa Office and reports to the Senior Relationship Officer, with ultimate reporting to the Manager Lending & Operations. The officer provides prompt, friendly and courteous service to sugar cane growers, explaining and promoting the Fund's products while supporting the Lending Team. The position involves direct engagement with growers on loan matters and contributes to the Fund's goals around lending and arrears collection.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing prompt, friendly and courteous service to the Sugar Cane Growers and explaining/promoting the Fund's products
  • Treating cane growers on a fair and equitable basis having regard to their needs and resources
  • Interviewing sugar cane growers in respect of loan applications
  • Supporting and participating with the Senior Relationship Officer and the Management Team in achieving the Fund's goals and objectives, including arrears collection
  • Maintaining good understanding and user-level capacity of the Core Lending System (CBS)
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management

About the successful candidate

  • Diploma level preferably in Finance, Agriculture or Business
  • Possess relevant lending knowledge of Sugar Industry regulations
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar field
  • A valid Driver's License would be an advantage
