About the role

This role sits within the Technical Team at the Digicel Khalsa Office, reporting to the Core & Billing Operations Lead. The Graduate Core Network Engineer supports the design, deployment, and maintenance of core network infrastructure across the Fiji Hub Markets, which include Fiji, Nauru, Tonga, Vanuatu, and Samoa. The role covers network architecture planning, optimization, and troubleshooting to keep services running reliably. It also involves working closely with operations, engineering, and customer support teams to resolve issues and improve network performance, while keeping up with emerging telecommunications technology trends.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the team in designing and deploying core network infrastructure end to end
• Identify and resolve network issues that may impact company services
• Optimize the network to ensure it operates at peak performance
• Capture traces and logs to troubleshoot and identify issues
• Document network configurations, issues, and resolutions
• Create reports and monitor the core network to ensure KPIs are met, capacity is managed, and disruptions are resolved or escalated within set timeframes
• Work with operations, engineering, and customer support teams to resolve network issues and improve performance
• Maintain network backups to provide a fallback point in case of network failure

About the successful candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field such as Computer Science or Information Technology
• Good understanding of telecommunication network standard protocols and interfaces is advantageous
• Result-oriented with strong analytical thinking
• Adaptable and a strong team worker
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Organizational awareness
