About the role
The Manager Strategic Estates Planning Services sits within Estates and Infrastructure Services, the section responsible for managing USP's property, buildings and infrastructure across all campuses and centres in its 13 member countries. This role provides strategic leadership in planning, managing and optimising USP's physical estate region-wide. It leads the University's strategic asset management function, ensuring property, buildings, infrastructure and associated assets are effectively planned, utilised, maintained, developed and aligned with USP's strategic priorities. The position also provides expert advice and strategic direction on the University's asset portfolio, campus development, space utilisation, property performance, regeneration opportunities and future development requirements. This is a three-year contract position, renewable by mutual agreement.
Key responsibilities
- Lead USP's strategic asset management function across all campuses and centres in its 13 member countries.
- Ensure property, buildings, infrastructure and associated assets are effectively planned, utilised, maintained and developed in line with University priorities.
- Provide expert advice and strategic direction on the University's asset portfolio.
- Oversee campus development, space utilisation and property performance.
- Identify and advise on regeneration opportunities and future development requirements.
About the successful candidate
- A degree and postgraduate qualification in Facilities Management, Business, Finance, Information Technology, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture or a relevant discipline, plus at least five years' relevant experience and demonstrated management expertise; or a degree/professional qualification in a relevant discipline plus ten years' relevant experience including at least five years' relevant management experience.
- Strong management and leadership capability, including sound analytical, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical application of strategic asset management principles, frameworks and systems.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic estates planning, property portfolio management, campus development and/or asset optimisation.
- Proven ability to analyse complex information, assess options and provide sound strategic recommendations.
- Strong project management, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High-level capability in preparing, analysing and presenting complex technical, strategic and management reports.
- Strong computing and systems capability, including developing, maintaining and utilising asset and property management systems, and the ability to work effectively across a complex, multicultural, geographically dispersed regional environment.
