About the role

This is a Process Operator role within the Production team at the Tavua bottling facility, providing technical and operational support to maintain an OEE level at or above 85%. The operator works a shift pattern that includes nights, afternoons, and weekends, and must be flexible to work across all functional areas. Duties involve operating and maintaining equipment such as forklifts, blower/fillers, labelers, bottle date coders, shrink wrappers, case erectors, packers, sealers, palletizers, stretch wrappers, and injection molding machines. The role also covers daily management practices like centre lining, Clean Inspect Lube, defect handling, and escalating predictive equipment failures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational support to the operations group to maintain an OEE level at or above 85%
• Uphold safe work practices and OH&S procedures in the workplace
• Work a shift pattern including nights, afternoons, and weekends, with flexibility across all functional areas
• Operate and maintain equipment including forklift, blower/filler, labeler, bottle date coders, shrink wrapper, case erectors, case packer, case sealer, case date coders, palletizer, stretch wrapper, and injection molding machines
• Respond to and correct operational issues including elementary maintenance and adjustment
• Carry out AM checks, centre lining, Clean Inspect Lube, and defect handling, escalating predictive equipment failures to stakeholders
• Execute hand palletizing and manual tasks such as product reworks, product destroy, and hand packing as required
• Perform quality inspections/checks to ensure optimal product quality, enter downtime into EIT, and ensure materials are consumed using the JIT method with scanned guns

About the successful candidate

• Successful completion of Year 12
• Trade qualification in a relevant field (Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing)
• 3-5 years equivalent work experience in a manufacturing field or product environment
• Extensive manufacturing background, especially in a bottling environment with technical experience, is preferred
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Valid group 9 driving license
• Excellent work ethic, self-motivated with proven problem-solving capabilities
• Able to meet fast-paced business demands with a can-do attitude, reliable, a team player, and able to work with minimal supervision
