About the role
This role is based in Lami and is responsible for structural surveys of shipping containers once gated in, checking all six sides for damage. The surveyor determines minor repairs and upgrades needed, assesses any damage, and quotes repair costs. Repair quotes are sent to the principal for approval before work proceeds. The role also involves coordinating with the workshop on repairs and maintenance, and overseeing material stock levels.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct structural surveys of shipping containers once gated in, checking all 6 sides
- Update handheld devices immediately of damages assessed
- Determine minor repairs and upgrades to shipping containers
- Assess container damages and quote repair costs
- Send repair quotes to the principal for approval
- Co-ordinate with workshop for repairs and maintenance of containers
- Look after material stocks
- Ensure workshop is OHS compliant
About the successful candidate
- Completion of Form 7 level at Secondary School or a higher qualification from a recognized institution
- Preferably IICL certified, though this can be attained through on-the-job training
- Physically fit to handle the demands of the job
- Strong attention to detail
- Commitment to health and safety
- Ability to follow procedures
- Strong work ethic, commitment to attendance, flexible, and a team player
- Legal right to live and work in Fiji
