About the company

Neptune Pacific Direct Line is a shipping and logistics company operating in Fiji, handling cargo clearance and freight services for clients importing and exporting goods.

About the role

This Licensed Customs Agent role is based in Nadi and centres on preparing and lodging customs clearance documents for foreign cargo entering or leaving Fiji through the domestic port. The agent receives documents such as Bills of Lading, suppliers' invoices, evidence of payment, C45 forms, and concession letters from Customer Care, then prepares entry papers in line with Fiji Customs Service and other government agency requirements, including Biosecurity and the Ministry of Health. The role involves calculating dutiable value against tariffs, requesting disbursement approvals from the Credit team based on client trading terms (COD, on account, or payment upfront), and lodging documents with Customs for approval. The agent also confirms delivery arrangements with the Transport Department, provides weekly summaries of cleared, uncleared, and transshipment jobs, and may attend client premises for cargo examination and delivery when operations staff are busy.

  • Prepare entry papers from suppliers' invoices in accordance with Fiji Customs Service and other government agency regulations, such as Biosecurity and Ministry of Health.
  • Calculate value for duty in accordance with appropriate tariffs, including proper classification and dutiable value determination.
  • Request disbursement approvals from the Credit team based on client trading terms (COD, on account, or payment upfront), and arrange payment once duty and value are confirmed and approved by Customs.
  • Provide storage of imported goods upon client request or under bond if clearance takes longer than expected.
  • Confirm delivery mode and coordinate with the delivery clerk and Transport Department.
  • Prepare appeal documents for clients disputing duty charges imposed by FRCS, and assist with exports and transshipment entry registration when required.
