About the role
The Export Officer - Airfreight role is based in Nadi and handles airfreight export operations, including booking airline space once shipment details are confirmed and preparing Air Waybills (AWBs). The role involves cargo screening, loading and unloading of export cargo, and assisting with import airfreight shipment clearance at the Wailekutu Bond as required. It also includes supporting cargo transfers between Suva and Nadi, providing customer quotations, and ensuring shipments reach the night truck within required timelines. The officer provides broader support across operational duties and to other departments as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Book airline space once complete shipment details are received and confirmed.
- Verify all required documentation to ensure accurate preparation and execution of Air Waybills (AWBs).
- Conduct cargo screening procedures in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, handling and storage of export cargo.
- Assist with import airfreight shipment clearance at the Wailekutu Bond as required.
- Assist with the transfer of cargo from Suva to Nadi to support export operations.
- Provide quotations to customers when required.
- Assist with cargo lodgement and ensure shipments are transferred to the night truck within required timelines.
About the successful candidate
- Certificate or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport, or a related field is preferred.
- CAAF Cargo Screener and/or Quality Control license is preferred.
- Valid Group 2 Manual Driving License required; Group 9 License is an added advantage.
- Prior experience in airfreight exports or freight forwarding is preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of Known and Unknown Cargo requirements.
- Good knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and good organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and under pressure to meet deadlines.
